Editorial Policy: How Mangez Moi Checks Its Numbers

Mangez Moi publishes measurement converters and plain-English guides to French baking. Every number on the site comes from a named source or a stated method, is checked before it goes live, and is fixed in public when it is wrong.

Where our numbers come from

  • Ingredient weights per cup come from the King Arthur Baking ingredient weight chart, the reference most American bakers already use.
  • Unit conversions (milliliters, centiliters, spoons, ounces) use the official US customary definitions, listed on Sources and methods.
  • Oven settings use the French thermostat scale (Th × 30 = °C) and the standard Celsius to Fahrenheit formula.
  • Pan sizes and servings are worked out from pan area and standard portion sizes, and the method is shown on each page so you can check it.

How we check a page before it goes live

  • Each converter is tested against hand-worked examples (for example 250 g of all-purpose flour = about 2 cups; Th 6 = 180 °C = 356 °F).
  • Tables are generated from one data file, so the same ingredient never shows two different weights on two pages.
  • Pages are checked on a phone and a desktop screen before publishing.

How we use AI

Pages are drafted with the help of AI writing tools. A person decides what goes on the site, and every figure is checked against the named source before it is published. AI is never the source of a number.

Updates and corrections

Each page shows the date it was last updated. If you find an error, email bonjour@mangezmoi.com; we check it against the source and log every fix on the corrections page.

Independence

Mangez Moi has no advertisers, sponsors or affiliate links today. If that changes, each affected page will say so before the first link. See disclosures.
